Useful Resources for Young People
Having listened to so many young people speak about how they don't know where to go for less 'serious', more day to day and less clinical help with their mental health, States of Mind has collected a list of great organisations for young people to explore.
The Mix is the UK’s leading support service for young people. We are here to help you take on any challenge you’re facing - from mental health to money, from homelessness to finding a job, from break-ups to drugs. Talk to us via online, social or our free, confidential helpline.
Founded in 2008, MAC-UK successfully engages with some of the UK’s most excluded and deprived young people who are most in need of support but least likely to access it.
We’re the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. Find out more about us, our mission and how we work
CAMPAIGN AGAINST LIVING MISERABLY
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. In 2015, 75% of all UK suicides were male.
THE HEARING VOICES NETWORK
If you hear voices HVN can help – we are committed to helping people who hear voices. Our reputation is growing as the limitations of a solely medical approach to voices become better known. Psychiatry traditionally refers to hearing voices as ‘auditory hallucinations’ but research shows that there are many explanations for hearing voices. Many people begin to hear voices as a result of extreme stress or trauma.
We offer information, support and understanding to people who hear voices and those who support them.
Youth Access is the national membership organisation for young people's information, advice and counselling services(YIACS). Our projects and activities ensure that links are fostered and sustained between the different sectors impacting on our members’ work with young people.
THE CHILDREN'S SOCIETY
Through our network of services all over the country we can be there for vulnerable children when they feel they have no one they can turn to for help.
